Chennai Super Kings batter Ayush Mhatre was ‘Retired Out’ on Saturday against Delhi Capitals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday. He was batting at 59 off 36 balls.
The 19-year-old became the sixth batter to dismissed in this manner in the Indian Premier League. The previous batters to have been retired out are Ravichandran Ashwin, Atharva Taide, Sai Sudharsan, Tilak Varma, Devon Conway.
Mhatre brought up his second half century of the season and stitched together a partnership with Sanju Samson to help CSK build momentum.
However, in an attempt to attack at the death, CSK opted to bring in Shivam Dube in place of Mhatre. The move paid off as Dube helped CSK finish on 212 by scoring 20 runs from 10 balls.
