Shreyas Iyer Blitz Powers PBKS to 6-Wicket Win Against Hyderabad

A solid knock from Shreyas Iyer has powered Punjab Kings to a 6-wicket victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 11 at New Chandigarh.

After a solid start from openers, Shreyas Iyer went on to slam 33-ball 69 to complete the chase in the 19th over. Punjab Kings secured their third win in this season and retained their second spot in the IPL 2026 points table.

After being invited to bat first, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head opened the innings while Arshdeep Singh opened the bowling attack.

The SRH duo made an aggressive start, scoring 105 runs in the powerplay.

Abhishek Sharma went on to an 18-ball fifty while Head played second fiddle. The openers stitched a 120-run partnership for the first wicket, dismissing Travis Head for 38 runs.

Shashank Singh bagged the wickets of the openers in the same over as Abhishek Sharma got dismissed for 74 runs. His knock included five fours and 8 sixes.

Ishan Kishan who came to bat, got dismissed by Arshdeep Singh. Marco Jansen who was placed in deep mid wicket just inside the boundary rope did take a catch and sent back SRH captain to dug out for 27 runs.

On the other hand, Klaasen did play a calm knock while other batters Aniket Verma, Salil Arora got dismissed on run out and caught out respectively.

Aniket Verma added 18 runs off 9 deliveries while Salil Arora scored 9 runs before being dismissed by Arshdeep Singh.

With Klaasen’s dismissal for 39 runs, Nitish Reddy and Harsh Dubey stayed at crease as SRH scored 219 runs in their 20 over innings.

Arshdeep Singh and Shashank Singh bagged two wickets while Xavier Bartlett picked a wicket for Pujab Kings.

Chasing 220 run target, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh opened the innings while Harsh Dubey opened the bowling attack.

The opener duo made a solid start scoring 93 runs in the powerplay. However, Shivang Kumar brought the first breakthrough dismissing Priyansh Arya for 57 runs. His knock came off in 20 deliveries which included 5 fours and 5 sixes.

Shivang Kumar bagged his second wicket dismissing 51 runs. His third dismissal came when Cooper Connolly sent back to dug out for 11 runs. With Harsh Dubey dismissing Nehal Wadhera for 14 runs, Shreyas Iyer went on to score fifty and continued to bat aiming to complete the chase.

Shashank Singh who came to bat, joined Iyer to complete the chase as PBKS captain remained unbeaten with 69 while Shashank Singh scored 16* runs.
