In the 19th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Gujarat Titans defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 7 wickets and achieved their second consecutive win in the tournament. In this victory of Gujarat, first the bowlers under the leadership of Prasidh Krishna made a brilliant contribution and then captain Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler completed the formality of this victory by scoring brilliant half-centuries.
After being invited to bat first in this match, Lucknow had a bad start and got the first blow in the form of Mitchell Marsh (11) on a total score of 14 runs.
After this, Aiden Markram and captain Rishabh Pantan added 31 runs for the second wicket. Then within the next 29 runs, Markram (30 runs), Pant (18) and Ayush Badoni (9) were out and returned to the pavilion.In the lower order, Mukul Chaudhary (18), Abdul Samad (18) and George Linde (16), who came as an impact player, Mohammed Shami (12 not out) made small contributions.
Due to which Lucknow scored 164 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. While bowling brilliantly for Gujarat, Prasidh Krishna took 4 wickets, Ashok Kumar took 2 wickets, Kagiso Rabada and Mohammad Siraj took 1 wicket each.After this, Gujarat’s chase of 165 runs also had a bad start and opener Sai Sudarshan became the victim of Digvesh Singh Rathi after scoring 15 runs in 14 balls.
However, after this Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler took over the innings and did not allow the wicket to fall till the 14th over. However, in the end Gill scored 56 runs in 40 balls before getting out while Jos Buttler also scored 60 runs in 37 balls before getting out and in the end Washington Sundar scored 21 runs to give the team victory in the 19th over.
