Delhi: In the 21st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the fast bowlers of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) gave a big blow to Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the initial overs. Three wickets fell in the very first over of Rajasthan’s innings, which has happened for the first time in IPL history.

Hinge made a big record

Fast bowler Prafulla Hinge did wonders in his initial spell and even took the fourth wicket by the third over. With this, he became the first bowler in IPL history to take four wickets within the first three overs of his debut innings. Earlier this record was in the name of Ishant Sharma, who took four wickets in 3.1 overs against Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2011.

Historic performance on debut

Prafulla Hinge created history by taking three wickets in his very first IPL over. Earlier, bowlers like Dylan du Preez and Amit Singh had taken two wickets each in their debut overs, while Sachin Baby also took two wickets in the opening over.

Deadly bowling of Saqib Hussain

The other young bowler Saqib Hussain also performed brilliantly, taking 4 wickets for 24 runs. Earlier in 2025, Ashwani Kumar of Mumbai Indians (MI) took four wickets on debut against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). In this way, Shakib also became one of the few bowlers who took a four-wicket haul in his very first IPL match.

Both bowlers together made a unique record

Prafulla Hinge and Saqib Hussain became only the fourth bowling pair to take four wickets each in the same innings. Earlier in 2023, Mohammed Shami and Mohit Sharma had achieved this feat for Gujarat Titans (GT) against Mumbai Indians (MI).

Rajasthan Royals’ batting completely collapsed

Rajasthan Royals’ top order batting was a complete failure and their first four batsmen could only add one run, which is one of the worst performances in IPL history. The team lost its four wickets within 10 balls, which is a new record.

Complete dominance of fast bowlers

All ten wickets of Sunrisers Hyderabad were taken by fast bowlers. This has happened for the seventh time in IPL, when all the wickets in an innings have been taken by the pacers. Earlier, in 2019, Delhi Capitals (DC) had also done this against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Middle order partnership saved some respect

For Rajasthan Royals, there was a partnership of 118 runs between Donovan Ferreira and Ravindra Jadeja for the sixth wicket, which is the second highest partnership for the sixth wicket or below in the IPL. However, this partnership could not save the team from big losses. After the initial setbacks, Rajasthan Royals added 150 more runs with the help of the lower order, but by then the match was completely out of their hands.
