Yuzvendra Chahal, the key spinner for Punjab Kings (PBKS), has once again attracted attention for reasons not to cricket during the ongoing IPL 2026 season. A new video circulating on social media shows Bollywood actress Taniya Chatterjee revealing private messages from Chahal on Instagram. In these messages, the cricketer had commented “cute” on several of her photos.

Taniya Chatterjee, according to IMDb, has starred in various web series such as Jaal, Dil Do, Watchman, and Flatmates. She has also appeared in music videos like Soneya, Ye Zindagi, and Qayamat, and has amassed over 2 million followers on Instagram.

In terms of his personal life, Chahal and Dhanashree Verma separated last year. Chahal was linked to RJ Mahvash and sports presenter Shefali Bagga, but neither of the rumoured relationships has been confirmed.

Earlier this year, Chahal made headlines again when he commented on an Instagram post, saying he was ready to remarry after his divorce from Dhanashree.

This statement was reported by The Times of India.

“Shadi k lie ready hoom bas ladki chahiye (“I’m ready for marriage, just looking for the right partner.)”

In an emotional interview with Raj Shami in 2025, Chahal revealed that he had battled “suicidal thoughts” after being accused of infidelity, as shared by News 18.

“After my divorce, I was labeled a cheater, but I have never cheated in my life. I’m a very loyal person, and you won’t find anyone more loyal than me. I care deeply about the people around me. What really hurts is that people are judging me without knowing the full story, and yet they continue to blame me.”

Chahal remains one of the IPL’s most consistent performers, holding the record for the most wickets in the tournament’s history. Last year, PBKS retained him and he has taken three wickets in as many matches in the ongoing 19th season.

Chahal has played 72 ODI and 80 T20I for India. He will next be seen in action when PBKS faces Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium on Thursday, April 16.
