Rohit Sharma Set for Scans After Hamstring Injury Scare, Doubtful For Next IPL Clash

Rohit Sharma will undergo scans to understand the severity of his hamstring injury and is doubtful for the Mumbai Indians’ next match against the Punjab Kings on April 16.

Rohit Sharma has retired hurt during the Mumbai Indians’ match against RCB on Sunday night, walking off in the sixth over. He scored 19 runs off 13 deliveries, with two fours and a six, before leaving the field. He walked off after facing the second ball of the final over in power.

Before Retiring hurt, Rohit was attended by the Mumbai Indians phsios before the first delviery of that over.  There was a long stop for the treatment before he returned to face the second ball, only to block it and walk off retired hurt.

Suryakumar Yadav walked in to bat after Rohit Sharma left the field. Accoridng to reports, “Rohit Sharma will undergo scans to understand the severity of his hamstring injury.” Whether or not Rohit will play Mumbai Indians’ next match against Punjab Kings on Thursday (April 16) will depend on the scan results.”

Despite, Mumbai Indians did not released any statement. However, MI cricketer Sherfane Rutherford said, “I’m not entirely sure yet-perhaps it’s a bit of a hamstring issue-but I can’t say for certain.

I was in the dugout, so I don’t have much information on it.”

Mumbai Indians batter Rohit Sharma etched his name in the record book completing 6,000 runs in IPL for the Mumbai Indians. The hitman achieved this feat during his side’s clash against RCB in the ongoing IPL on Sunday.

Rohit Sharma has scored 6013 runs in 231 matches at an average of 29.76 and a strike rate of 132.82, which included 40 half-centuries and two hundreds for Mumbai.

He is also second highest run scorer in IPL with 7183 runs in 276 games, while Virat Kohli leads the chart with 8,840 runs in 271 fixtures.

Mumbai Indians have only one win in four games they played in the ongoing season and will be aiming for a win in the next game against Punjab Kings at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
