The Lucknow Super Giants take on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Match 23 of the 2026 Indian Premier League.

The Super Giants come into this clash on the back of a loss to the Gujarat Titans at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. They had a torrid game with the bat, with multiple players getting starts but not being able to carry on.

They are rife with stars at the top, and with the addition of George Linde, signed as an injury replacement for Wanindu Hasaranga, they have added much-needed depth to their batting without having to make amends with the strength of their bowling attack. LSG have found balance in their bowling attack, with roles being executed to perfection, but they will need the batting to click to hit the next level.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) predicted XI: Top order: Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, Rishabh Pant (C & WK) Aiden Markram LSG

Both Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram have had good-looking starts this season, but have failed to convert them into big scores. Marsh and Markarm at the top were a key facet of the LSG batting in 2025, with the big-hitting Aussie being the top run-scorer for the Super Giants . The pair will have to get going at the top of the order to compensate for the lack of batting depth and failures of the middle order.

Rishabh Pant has settled himself at number 3 for the Super Giants. The skipper got runs against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, but has not been able to maintain his form. He looked in good nick against the Titans but failed to convert it into a score.

Middle order: Ayush Badoni (Impact), Nicholas Pooran, Abdul Samad, Mukul Choudhary Mukul Choudhary (Photo Source: IPL)

The biggest point of concern for the Lucknow Super Giants is the form of Nicholas Pooran. The big-hitting West Indian batter has scored just 41 runs in four games at a dismal strike rate of 84.52. He was one of LSG’s best batters last season, and a recovery from his rut would be key for the Super Giants to perform this season.

Ayush Badoni scored his first half-century of the season against the Kolkata Knight Riders and has been Lucknow’s designated impact player in 2026. The find of the season for the Super Giants has been Mukul Choudhary, whose 27-ball 54 helped take down the Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens. He comes in as a reputed finisher in the domestic circuit, and despite Abdul Samad not performing up to standards, his prowess as a six-hitter is still feared.

Lower order/Bowlers: George Linde, Mohammed Shami, Avesh Khan, Digvesh Singh Rathi, Prince Yadav Prince Yadav (Photo Source: IPL)

The arrival of George Linde comes as a blessing for LSG, giving them an option to add depth to their batting without having to significantly compensate for the quality of their bowling attack. Despite going wicketless on debut against the Titans, the left-arm spinner comes in with a wealth of experience.

Mohammed Shami has seen a resurgence in 2026, and, despite figures of 1/36 against the Titans, has executed his responsibilities as attack leader to perfection. Prince Yadav has been a revelation, picking up key wickets in all the games that he has played. He bowls at a high pace, executes yorkers accurately and takes up responsibility in all phases of the innings. With six wickets, he is LSG’s leading wicket-taker currently.

Avesh Khan has reprised his role as LSG’s bankable death bowler, and Digvesh Rathi has picked up three wickets this season, bowling with good control.
