Kolkata Knight Riders rolled the dice in the contest against Chennai Super Kings at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday, sending Sunil Narine to open along with Finn Allen.

This marks the first time the former West Indies all-rounder has walked in to bat for the opening wicket this season. Skipper Ajinkya Rahane had shared opening duties with Allen through the first four games of the season.

In the IPL, Narine has opened the batting 67 times, scoring 1463 runs at a strike rate of 175.7. He has scored 95 sixes at the top of the order.

KKR is looking to chase down the target of 193 set by CSK with contributions from Sanju Samson, Ayush Mhatre and Dewald Brevis.
