Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has been in exceptional form in the Indian Premier League 2024. He has led his franchise to several victories. The right-handed batter was rewarded for his display by the national selectors. He is a part of the 15-member squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
Former India player Gautam Gambhir wants the experienced batter to win games for the Indian team.
“Now you are in the World Cup team. You have the opportunity to win games for India. You have the experience of international cricket. You are not a newbie anymore,” Gautam Gambhir said on Sportskeeda.
“You have tasted success in the Indian Premier League. Now you were picked in the World Cup team. You should win games for India. When you flourish, the world takes a note of your talent,” he added.
Gambhir remarked that captaincy has impacted Samson’s batting and he is hoping to see better performances from the star batter in the global tournament.
“He hasn’t done anything wrong in the batting, wicket-keeping and captaincy. I hope Samson’s captaincy reflects on his batting in the T20 World Cup,” he concluded.
