Lucknow: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain K Rahul's performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 has been mixed. However, the team's assistant coach Lance Klusener believes that Rahul has not performed badly this season. Let us tell you that even though Lucknow is in the race for the playoffs in IPL 2024, it is finding it very difficult for them to reach the knockout stage. This team has to play its next match against Mumbai Indians (MI), which is going to prove to be the last match of both the teams. In the last two seasons, Lucknow had qualified for the playoffs but this time they will not be able to do so.

This season many questions were raised regarding captain Rahul's batting and he was accused of batting slowly and that is why Lucknow has reached this situation. However, the assistant coach of the franchise has a different opinion and according to him, Rahul has performed excellently. Not only this, the team kept losing wickets continuously and due to this KL could not play aggressive cricket. While talking about the right-handed batsman, Klusener has given a big statement.

He said, “He has given some excellent performances in the tournament. We have lost a lot of wickets around him and because of this he has to rebuild his innings many times. Due to continuously falling wickets, Rahul could not play his natural game. “People just sit and think and say that their tournament was not easy and it is very easy to say.”

Klusener further said, “If you look at Rahul's statistics this season, you will know that he is actually not that bad. Considering the difficult conditions, he had to bat as per the situation. However, if he looks back, he might be a little disappointed with his own batting. If you look at the circumstances, many times the right-handed batsman had to start his innings differently because he was not getting any support from the other end.”

KL Rahul's performance in IPL 2024

The 32-year-old has played some good innings this season but on some occasions his bat has not worked, due to which the star players will be disappointed. This season, he has played a total of 13 matches so far, in which he has scored 465 runs at an average of 32.77 and strike rate of 136.36. During this period, Rahul has scored 3 half-centuries, while his best score has been 82 runs.
