Shubman Gill failed to lead Gujarat Titans to success in the Indian Premier League 2024. The franchise couldn’t replicate the performances of the last two seasons. The departure of Hardik Pandya and absence of Mohammed Shami impacted the Titans. The 2022 champions finished their campaign with 12 points from 14 matches.

Gill and Sai Sudharsan were the star performers with the bat but the rest of the batting unit lacked consistency. The last league match of GT against SRH was abandoned due to rain. Sunrisers Hyderabad got the point they needed to qualify for the playoffs.

Meanwhile, Gill took to X to reflect on the 17th season.

“Not the way we hoped it would end, but it’s been a season full of learning and some great memories. I’ve been a part of this beautiful family for three years, and it’s been a journey I will never forget. I want to thank all the fans who supported us and showed us love when times were tough. Aava De! @gujarat_titans,” he wrote on X.

Shubman will now travel with the Indian team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. He has been kept in the list of reserves along with Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan.
