India Warm-up fixture: The countdown for the start of the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup has started and before that all the teams will also get to play some warm-up matches for their preparations. The ICC on Thursday announced the schedule of all the warm-up matches before the T20 World Cup, which are to be played between May 27 and June 1. The Indian team, which is set to start its campaign against Ireland in the tournament from June 5, will also be seen playing a warm-up match and will face Bangladesh on June 1, which will be the only practice match for the team captained by Rohit Sharma.

The Indian team is part of Group A in the tournament, which includes hosts USA, Ireland, Pakistan and Canada. At the same time, Bangladesh team is part of Group D, which includes South Africa, Sri Lanka, Netherlands and Nepal.

ICC has said that all warm-up matches will be played in USA and Trinidad and Tobago. At the same time, the venues hosting 16 warm-up matches before the T20 World Cup 2024 include Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Texas, Broward County Stadium in Florida, Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad and Tobago. A total of 20 teams will participate in the tournament but only 17 teams will be seen in the warm-up matches, while the South Africa team will play intra-squad matches on May 29 in Florida.

Let us tell you that all these practice matches will be of 20 overs duration but they will not have any status at the international level. At the same time, the teams involved will be allowed to field all their 15 players.
