Why was Rasikh Salaam Dar banned? (PC-PTI)
Rasikh Salaam Dar: Rasikh Salam Dar has once again shown his strength in IPL 2026. This fast bowler from Jammu and Kashmir performed brilliantly against Lucknow Supergiants, taking 4 wickets for just 24 runs in 4 overs. Rasikh Salaam took the wickets of Aiden Markram, Ayush Badoni, Mukul Chaudhary and Avesh Khan. Due to his devastating bowling, Lucknow Supergiants team got bundled out for just 146 runs. After this, RCB won the match by 5 wickets without any problem. Rasikh Salaam is being saluted after his excellent performance but do you know that BCCI had even banned this player for two years. Let us tell you why such harsh action was taken against Rasikh?
Rasikh Salaam suffered a big setback in the year 2019. BCCI had banned this player for two years. Rasikh was found guilty of age fraud. He had given a fake certificate to BCCI for selection in the Indian Under-19 team. The Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education had told the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association that Rasikh had fudged his age. Because of this, BCCI removed him from the India U-19 team and banned him for two years.
When this ban was imposed on Rasikh, he had already debuted in IPL. He was given a chance by Mumbai Indians and was one of the youngest players. Only he knows how Rasikh spent two years, however, after the ban ended, he returned to domestic cricket. After this, KKR and Delhi Capitals gave him a chance in IPL. But now this player is a part of RCB and he has done wonders.
Rasikh Salam has taken 19 wickets in first class cricket so far. He also has 19 wickets in his name in List A. He has taken 55 wickets in T20. This player has taken 15 wickets in IPL. He has given the best performance of his career only against Lucknow.
