The Indian women's cricket team is going on South Africa tour to play a five-match T20 International series. This series is very important for the Indian women's team as it is their last preparation opportunity before the England tour and the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026.
India-South Africa T20 series
The first match of the India-South Africa T20 series will be played on 17 April 2026 (Friday) at the Kingsmead Stadium in Durban.
This will be a night match, in which the start time of the match for Indian fans is 9:30 pm. At the same time, the toss will take place half an hour earlier i.e. at 9:00 pm. The Indian team is currently ranked third in the ICC Women's T20 rankings, while host South Africa is ranked fifth. In such a situation, both the teams will put full effort in this series to strengthen their preparations for the World Cup.India has not won the Women's T20 World Cup title yet, so the experience gained on this tour can prove to be very important for the team.
The Indian team, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, includes some new talents along with experienced players like Smriti Mandhana, Shefali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma.
