As has been the trend for the past few years in the Indian Premier League, popular franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be wearing the special green jersey in their match against Delhi Capitals on Saturday, April 18, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Notably, RCB wear this jersey in one home game of every IPL season since 2011 as part of their 'Go Green' initiative.
The game on Saturday is slated to be an afternoon fixture and will be played at the iconic venue with an aim of spreading awareness about the importance of reducing carbon emissions. For the unversed, RCB is the only professional sports team in the world with a carbon-neutral footprint, and the next focus for the franchise is to become carbon-positive.
Commenting on the initiative, the franchise's chief executive officer (CEO) Rajesh Menon has expressed that the team is fully committed to achieving its goals towards negating their carbon emissions over the years. According to Menon, RCB wants its millions of fans worldwide to gain inspiration from this initiative and take their steps towards minimising their carbon footprint.

The green jerseys reflect this commitment, and we hope this initiative inspires our fans and stakeholders to embrace more responsible and sustainable practices," Menon said in an official franchise statement.
