The Sunrisers Hyderabad take on the Chennai Super Kings in Match 27 of the 2026 Indian Premier League at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
The Sunrisers notched up their second win of the season as they beat the in-form Rajasthan Royals by 57 runs in a dominant performance. Being put into bat, they put up a whopping 216.6, with Ishan Kishan scoring a brilliant 91 off 44 balls. The Royals were blown apart by the debuting quicks Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain, who picked up four wickets apiece. They will be looking to gather the momentum from this win against a top team and ensure that they can carry it forward into results. They are awaiting the return of Aussie ace and skipper Pat Cummins, who is expected to join the squad soon.
The Super Kings have won their last two games, against the Delhi Capitals and the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Chepauk. Sanju Samson was the star of the show against Delhi, where he scored a marvellous unbeaten 115 off 56 balls, his first century in yellow. Jamie Overton and Noor Ahmad put up brilliant performances, with the former picking up 4/18 against the Capitals and the latter finishing with a player-of-the-match performance with figures of 3/21 against the Knight Riders.
Both teams are coming into this clash on the back of dominant victories after a few early losses and will be looking to carry the form forward. For the Sunrisers, the aim is to avoid their win against the Royals being a mere one-off, and the Super Kings play away from home after two wins at the Chepauk and will look to continue that momentum on the road.
