Heinrich Klaasen surpasses Kohli, Gill to don IPL 2026 Orange Cap; Anshul Kamboj leads Purple Cap

Heinrich Klaasen continued his red-hot run in the IPL 2026 with another fifty during the SRH vs CSK game in Hyderabad on Saturday, April 18. Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman scored 59 runs off 39 balls to reclaim the IPL 2026 Orange Cap with his third fifty this season.

Earlier on Saturday, in the afternoon fixture between RCB and DC, Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar missed the chance to top the scoring charts with low scores. Ishan Kishan suffered a golden duck against CSK to slip down in the Orange Cap race.

Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled another three-wicket spell to become the third player to reach 10 or more wickets this season and enter the Purple Cap race. Later in the evening, Anshul Kamboj took three wickets against SRH to take a lead in the Purple Cap race for the first time this season.

Heinrich Klaasen regains lead in the IPL 2026 Orange Cap

Heinrich Klaasen scored 59 runs against CSK to surpass Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill in the Orange Cap race. With 30+ scores in all six innings this season, Klaasen leads the scoring chart with 283 runs at a strike rate of 144.38.

There is a notable gap at the top with Shubman Gill at 251 runs in four innings. Kohli scored 19 runs against Delhi Capitals on Saturday and is now only four runs behind Gill. Rajat Patidar and Ishan Kishan failed to score big, but both players remain among the top five leading run-getters in IPL 2026.

The CSK pacer has taken 13 wickets in six innings at an economy rate of 9.73. Prasidh held the cap for the majority of the early season, with 11 wickets in five innings, with 9.20 runs per over.

Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the two-time Purple Cap winner, took three wickets against DC to enter the Purple Cap race.
