Every cricketer aspires to play in IPL. But not everyone gets this opportunity. To be selected in any IPL team, one has to show strong performance in domestic cricket or International T20. But sometimes luck takes a different turn and one gets a chance directly in IPL. Exactly the same thing has happened with 22-year-old batsman Danish Malewar, who has got a chance to play for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026.
Mumbai Indians, captained by Hardik Pandya, who are continuously struggling in the IPL 2026 season, gave a chance to Danish to debut in the match against Gujarat Titans.
Malewar, a right-handed batsman playing for Vidarbha, has not played a T20 match even once in his short career. In domestic cricket, he represented Vidarbha only in Ranji Trophy but despite this, MI has given him a chance.Gujarat Titans: Shubman Gill (captain), Sai Sudarshan, Jos Buttler (wicketkeeper), Glenn Phillips, Washington Sundar, Shahrukh Khan, Rashid Khan, Mohammed Siraj, Kagiso Rabada, Prasidh Krishna, Ashok Sharma.
Mumbai Indians: Hardik Pandya (captain), Danish Malewar, Quinton de Kock (wicketkeeper), Naman Dheer, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Verma, Sherfane Rutherford, Mitchell Santner, Krish Bhagat, Jasprit Bumrah, AM Ghazanfar.
