Delhi Capitals: The performance of Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026 has not been anything special so far. The team has played a total of 6 matches and has faced defeat in 3. Meanwhile, good news has come out for Delhi Capitals. A star fast bowler is going to enter the team. This player has not been able to join the squad yet due to injury. But now he is coming to India to participate in IPL. This player was retained by Delhi Capitals for Rs 11.75 crore.
Cricket Australia (CA) has given permission to star fast bowler Mitchell Starc to play in IPL 2026. It is expected that 36 year old Mitchell Starc will be seen playing the match of Delhi Capitals against Rajasthan Royals on 1st May. This will be his first IPL match of this season. Starc has not been able to play any match since January due to elbow and shoulder injuries. He performed brilliantly in all the five Test matches of the Ashes series at home and was also chosen Player of the Series. After this he also played five matches of Big Bash League for Sydney Sixers.
But due to injury he could not participate in the initial phase of IPL. Now Starc will work hard and practice after reaching India. After Cricket Australia's approval, he will join Delhi Capitals and is likely to be ready for the May 1 match. Let us tell you, in the last season, Starc took 14 wickets while playing 11 matches for Delhi Capitals. His bowling proved to be very useful for the team. In such a situation, with the arrival of Starc, the team's bowling will become stronger.
Starc's initial absence had sparked a lot of discussion about the commitment of foreign players in the IPL. He was criticized a lot on social media, in response to which Starc had clarified that it was due to injury and had called it wrong information. He had also apologized to the Delhi team and fans for this delay.
