Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans are out of the playoff race in the Indian Premier League 2024. Mumbai were the most disappointing franchise in the ongoing season, considering they have won IPL five times. Despite the presence of big match-winners, MI failed to get going under Hardik Pandya’s captaincy.
Mumbai will play their last game of the season against LSG at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Former India player Irfan Pathan is expecting to see a better display from the unit.a
“They should go out and give their best shot. I know there have been several shortcomings but it is time to leave everything behind and focus on the last game.
“Mumbai have big players and the team is not bad at all. For me Mumbai have had the worst season in their IPL history. They will have to think about the future as well. There is a need to work on areas which resulted in their downfall,” Irfan Pathan said on Star Sports.
However, Harbhajan Singh refused to buy Pathan’s logic. “They should concentrate on their last game. Their is no point to think about the future. All the planning and the reasons behind failures could be discussed after the season ends. I am hoping to see a better performance from Mumbai against Lucknow,” Harbhajan Singh said.
