Want to prepare Vaibhav Suryavanshi for the test? (PC-PTI)
Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre have performed well in IPL 2026. Mhatre is out due to injury but Suryavanshi is still desperate to show his talent. However, in the meantime, former cricketer Harbhajan Singh has given him important advice. He said that young batsmen like Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre will need the right mindset for Test cricket and they can learn a lot from Yashasvi Jaiswal. Harbhajan Singh said this through gestures only. Harbhajan Singh clearly said that for him in the current era, the best player in all three formats is Yashasvi Jaiswal.
On the occasion of Sachin Tendulkar's 53rd birthday in Mumbai, Harbhajan Singh said that the upcoming batsmen will have to be very good to play Test cricket. He said that in the present era, only Yashasvi Jaiswal is such a batsman. Harbhajan said, 'If any batsman is the best then it is Yashasvi Jaiswal. He has the qualities required for both T20 and Test cricket. He can play comfortably in one session and can also score runs fast in the next session. There are very few players who have this kind of mentality and Jaiswal has created a special place for himself.
Harbhajan Singh further said, 'I think Jaiswal, Suryavanshi and even Ishan Kishan have the same mentality of hitting the ball, but at the same time you also have to understand that when the ball swings and the conditions change, you have to play a game in which you also have to stop the ball. Harbhajan said that India will have to prepare a player like Suryavanshi so that he can get a chance to play Test cricket. Harbhajan Singh said, 'Despite the ups and downs, Vaibhav Suryavanshi will eventually learn.
But if a 15-year-old boy can hit the ball, he can also block. It's a matter of mentality, if you give them a chance they will adapt to it. Harbhajan Singh, however, said that Suryavanshi will have to be honed before fielding him in Test cricket.
