Delhi: After the defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Shubman Gill spoke openly on the shortcomings of the team. After the match, Gill cited the team’s performance, especially in the middle overs, as a major reason for the defeat.

Shubhman Gill said that the team could not hit a single boundary between the 16th and 19th overs, which proved to be the turning point of the match. According to him, the team was in a good position after the powerplay, but that momentum could not be maintained. He also admitted that the bowlers were not able to bowl consistently on the right length, of which the opposition batsmen took advantage.

However, he also said that there was some help from the pitch, especially when Krunal Pandya was bowling, the ball was getting light grip.
