In this historic victory, opener Prabhsimran Singh and captain Shreyas Iyer led the team to victory with their brilliant batting.

Powerful innings of Prabhasimran and Iyer
Prabhsimran Singh gave a good start to Punjab by scoring 76 runs in 26 balls. After this, Shreyas Iyer took the team closer to victory by scoring unbeaten 71 runs on 36 balls.

The innings of both the players changed the course of the match. During this, two catches of Iyer were dropped by Karun Nair, which proved to be the turning point of the match.

A total of 529 runs were scored in this match played between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals, which is the highest score made by both the teams in any match in IPL history.

KL Rahul’s brilliant century
Earlier, KL Rahul of Delhi Capitals played an unbeaten inning of 152 runs and took the team to the score of 264.

This was Rahul’s sixth century in his IPL career and became the first Indian to score 150 runs in IPL. Rahul equaled Chris Gayle’s record in terms of scoring most centuries in IPL. In this match, Nitish Rana also came close to a century, but was out on 91 runs.
