The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) secured a comfortable five-wicket victory over the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday, April 25. The win takes Pat Cummins’ side level on points with RR and defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru. However, they are third on the table due to their net run-rate.
Batting first on home soil, the RR went on and registered 228 runs on the board from 20 overs. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was the star of the show with his magnificent hundred off just 36 balls. The 15-year-old scored his second IPL hundred in as many years to mesmerise the Jaipur crowd. He was partnered brilliantly by Dhruv Jurel, who scored 51 off 35 balls.
SRH, in reply, chased down the total with relative ease with nine balls to spare. Despite losing Travis Head early in the first over, the 2016 champions had their innings stabilised thanks to Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan. The pair scored 57 and 74, respectively, to make sure that the required run-rate was never an issue for the visitors. Nitish Kumar Reddy provided the finishing touch, scoring 36 not out at a strike-rate of 200.
