Former India player Irfan Pathan has warned Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan, and Sunrisers Hyderabad from Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
RCB are on a five-match winning streak and need to defeat CSK in their final league match to qualify for playoffs. The Bengalauru-based franchise will face Chennai Super Kings at home on May 18.
Irfan said that if RCB make it to the next round, they will prove dangerous to the other three rivals.
“Chennai Super Kings know how to win big matches, but the momentum is with RCB. Their batters are scoring runs, and the bowlers are taking crucial wickets. They have added two spinners to the playing XI, and they have done reasonably well. Mohammed Siraj is back among wickets.
“If RCB makes it to the playoffs, SRH, KKR, and RR will be on the back foot as they know this franchise can set them on any given day. Virat Kohli has a point to prove and is already the leading run-scorer in the 17th season. Other batters are also amassing runs,” Irfan Pathan said on Star Sports.
RCB would need Kohli’s contribution to defeat Chennai, as the defending champions are more experienced in winning big and important contests.
