Sri Lanka Women will look to secure a whitewash when they take on Bangladesh Women in the final game of their three-match series to be played at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Saturday, May 2.

Sri Lanka have already secured the series after winning the first two matches. They picked up a comfortable 21-run victory in the second T20I to take home the trophy. The Lankans batted first and posted 154 runs on the board in the first innings, thanks to Harshitha Samarawickrama’s quick-fire 49, who was unlucky to miss out on a well-deserved half-century.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, could only manage 133 from their quota of 20 overs, with the Sri Lankans performing three run outs, while Kavisha Dilhari took two wickets and went for just 15 runs from four overs to win Player of the Match.

Sylhet International Cricket Stadium: Pitch Report

As seen from the first two T20I matches in this series, the side batting first tends to do well, with the pitch slowing considerably in the second innings. The slow bowlers can get the most out of this wicket whilst bowling second. The pitch does offer plenty of assistance to the batters in the first innings, making it the best time to pile on the runs in the game.

Harshitha Samarawickrama is currently the leading run-scorer in this ongoing T20I series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, having scored 110 runs from the first two matches at a strike-rate of 171.87 whilst averaging 55. The 27-year-old is certainly one to watch out for in the third game as she makes a great case for herself to be named Player of the Series.

Probable Best Bowler: Chamari Athapaththu

The experienced Sri Lankan captain Chamari Athapaththu remains one of her side’s best bowlers this series. Despite taking only two wickets in the first two matches, the 36-year-old has bowled at an economy rate of just five, which is only bettered by her team-mate Dilhari (4.75).
