When the team was announced after the selection meeting held at the BCCI headquarters, the biggest surprise was Nandani's name in the squad of 15 players. Surprising because Nandini has got a call from Team India for the first time in any format. Before this, he had never been selected in Team India for any series or tournament.

Nandani first made her mark in the WPL 2026 season, where she was a part of Delhi Capitals. During this period, he had created history by taking a hat-trick and 5 wickets in a single match.

Nandani's performance was excellent throughout the season. This young pacer had taken 17 wickets in 10 matches in the entire season. She was the most successful bowler of this season with Sophie Devine taking 17 wickets. This was the best performance of any Indian bowler in a season in the history of WPL. Will debut in the World Cup?

Now eyes will be on whether Nandini gets a chance to play for Team India during the World Cup or not. However, just before the World Cup, Team India has to play a series of 3 T20 matches in England and he can also make his debut in this series itself.
