Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) player Will Jacks was in awe of Virat Kohli when the two met for the first time in the Indian Premier League 2024. He was taken aback by Kohli’s huge fanbase.
Jacks revealed the amount of love Virat gets wherever he travels. The English all-rounder claimed that the way Virat is looked at by fans is bigger than what is seen with star footballers.
“When I first met Virat Kohli, that was surreal. The amount of love he gets from the fans is not seen even for star footballers at home. His support system was incredible wherever we went,” Will Jacks said on ESPNcricinfo.
Jacks also loved his chemistry with the other players in the RCB squad in IPL 2024 and said that all-rounder Glenn Maxwell gave him a lot of experience.
“I was told that RCB fans were the best. I found them crazy. I was expecting their backing but I was surprise when I actually experienced it,” he added.
In eight matches, Jacks has scored 230 runs at a strike rate of 175.57, including included a hundred off 41 balls against the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
