Former Australia player Matthew Hayden was not pleased with Virat Kohli for his arguments with the umpires in the RCB vs CSK match in IPL 2024. Kohli’s involvement was more than the Bengaluru captain Faf du Plessis.
Hayden commented during the 12th over of the CSK chase. The two umpires were having a chat when Kohli walked up to the officials and said something in their ears that attracted Hayden’s attention.
Kohli spoke to the umpires previously as well but Hayden decided to give his opinion this time around. Hayden said that it was not Kohli’s job to talk to the umpires every now and then.
‘Virat Kohli was involved in too much interjection. He is not the captain and it is not his job to have conversations with the umpires,” Matthew Hayden said.
Virat was charged up during the game and was seen abusing rival players and fans. He was speaking to himself during his innings of 47 runs.
Kohli was also involved in planning. When MS Dhoni hit Yash Dayal for a six in the last over, Kohli told the pacer to bowl a slower delivery and it resulted in Mahi’s downfall.
