Gautam Gambhir further said that whenever his performance was not good, various kinds of pressure was put on him by mentioning his family. Gambhir said, I remember whenever I did not perform well in my career, people used to say that you are from a good family. You don't need to play cricket. You have many options. You join your father's business.

He also said, 'This used to be the biggest thought roaming in my mind. People don't realize that I wanted it more than them. I wanted to defeat this idea. When I could do this, I was not troubled by any other thought. The idea behind beating the toughest estimate in my life was that I didn't want to make it hard for myself but made it difficult for other people.
