Delhi Capitals defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders by 40 runs in Match No. 70 of the IPL 2026. Chasing 204 runs for a win, KKR were dismissed for 163 in 18.4 overs. Only four batters entered the two-digit mark, with captain Ajinkya Rahane scoring 63 runs off 39 balls, laced with 4 fours and 4 sixes. Finn Allen (20 off 13), Manish Pandey (25 off 16) and Rovman Powell (29 off 21) tried to take their team to a victory but fell short in the end.

Kuldeep Yadav had the best game of the 19th season, taking three wickets for 29 runs in 4 overs. Lungi Ngidi dismissed three batters and gave away 27 runs in 3.4 overs. Mitchell Starc (2 wickets) and Axar Patel (1 wicket) also bowled well.

Earlier, KL Rahul once again batted well for the Capitals, accumulating 30-ball 60, with the help of 5 boundaries and 4 maximums. Captain Axar contributed 39 runs in 25 balls, including 3 fours and 2 sixes.

Abishek Porel (22 off 18), Sahil Parakh (24 off 17), David Miller (28 off 19) and Ashutosh Sharma (18* off 11) added important runs to the total.

Saurabh Dubey claimed two scalps while Anukul Roy, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy got rid of one batter each.

With 14 points from 14 matches, the Capitals finished 6th while Kolkata secured 13 points from 14 contests. They finished their campaign in 7th place.
