Delhi: Delhi Capitals (DC) veteran batsman KL Rahul has registered himself in the pages of history by playing a brilliant half-century innings against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Because of Rahul’s innings, Delhi won the last league match by 40 runs. Delhi ended its IPL 2026 journey by finishing sixth on the points table.

Rahul registered a unique record

Rahul played an inning of 60 runs in 30 balls against Kolkata. In this innings, Rahul hit five fours and four sixes. With this he made a unique record of sixes in his name. Rahul has now become the only batsman to hit 30 or more sixes for three different teams in the IPL. Rahul ended this season with 31 sixes. Earlier, while playing for Punjab Kings in the year 2018, Rahul had hit 32 sixes and 30 sixes in 2021. While playing for Lucknow Super Giants in the year 2022, he hit 30 sixes.

Delhi won its last match with Rahul’s innings

Due to Rahul’s inning of 60 runs, Delhi batted first and scored 203 runs losing five wickets in 20 overs.

In reply, Kolkata collapsed for only 163 runs in front of the excellent bowling of Kuldeep Yadav, Lungi Ngidi and Mitchell Starc. Kuldeep and Ngidi took three wickets each. Whereas Starc got two successes. Captain Ajinkya Rahane scored a brilliant half-century for Kolkata. Rahane played an inning of 63 runs in 39 balls. But he could not make his team win the match. This was Kolkata’s seventh defeat in 14 matches. With this defeat, Kolkata ended its IPL journey by finishing seventh on the points table.

Rahul’s brilliant performance in IPL 2026

Rahul performed brilliantly in IPL 2026. Rahul was the highest run scorer for his team. Rahul scored runs in 14 innings at an excellent average of 45.62. During this period he had an excellent strike rate of 174.42. Rahul scored 5 half-centuries in this season. A quick century also came from his bat. Rahul’s best score was 152. Apart from 31 sixes, Rahul also hit 54 fours. Rahul continued to perform for the team, due to his batting the team also won many matches. Rahul entertained the fans with his batting throughout the season.

Delhi did not live up to the expectations of fans
