Vaibhav Sooryanshi hit his 60th six of the IPL 2026 season against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator on Wednesday, breaking the record for the most sixes hit by a single player across an IPL season.

Sooryavanshi broke the record with a six over long-off against Sakib Hussain in the fourth over of the match.

The record was previously held by Chris Gayle, when the West Indian hit 59 sixes in the 2013 season while playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Its been a highly impactful season from Sooryavanshi, having set the stage alight with some unreal power hitting and dealing with boundaries and maximums.
