Chandigarh: In the most exciting eliminator match of IPL 2026, Rajasthan Royals (RR) young player Vaibhav Suryavanshi single-handedly created a stir against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
Vaibhav blasted Hyderabad bowlers and scored 97 runs in just 29 balls. On the basis of his stormy innings, Rajasthan Royals set a lofty target of 244 runs for Hyderabad. But, when Vaibhav Suryavanshi was out in this match, the cricket fans got angry after seeing the attitude of Sunrisers Hyderabad owner Kavya Maran.
After winning the toss in the match, Rajasthan Royals decided to bat first.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal started the innings for Rajasthan and attacked the Hyderabad bowlers from the very first over. The pair put the match in Rajasthan's favor by making an explosive partnership of 125 runs in just 8 overs for the first wicket. The condition of the bowlers of Kavya Maran's team Hyderabad was so bad that the Sunrisers fans sitting in the stadium became completely silent. Mistress Kavya Maran, who was sitting in the stands, was also sitting silently after seeing the match getting out of hand in the first innings itself.Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who made his intentions clear by hitting a six in the very first over, completed his fifty in just 16 balls. Even after this his bat did not stop and he reached 97 runs in 28 balls. But while trying to hit a big shot on the 29th ball, Vaibhav was caught out by Praful Hinge. Vaibhav was returning to the pavilion very disappointed after scoring a century by just 3 runs and missing the golden opportunity to break Chris Gayle's 2013 record (century in 30 balls).
The Hyderabad team players present on the field at that time, especially Abhishek Sharma, applauded Vaibhav Suryavanshi wholeheartedly for this historic innings. But, Kavya Maran, who was sitting in the VIP stands, remained seated on her seat and was seen clapping half-heartedly with a sad face.
The video of this lackluster reaction of Kavya Maran has gone viral on social media and cricket fans are raising questions on her sportsmanship. One user wrote, "Vaibhav Suryavanshi played an incredible and brilliant innings.
Despite being the owner of the opposing team, Kavya Maran should have at least stood up and applauded the courage of that young player. It is not right to show such small heart."Scroll to load tweet…
