Former Indian batting great Sachin Tendulkar couldn’t stop himself from admiring the batting talents of young Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The 15-year-old scored 97 off 29 balls in the SRH vs RR IPL 2026 eliminator game on Wednesday at Mullanpur.

The knock proved to be critical as the Rajasthan Royals went on to win the game by 47 runs.

After watching the knock, the 53-year-old took to his X (Formerly Twitter) andwrote, “Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s bat swing has been outstanding. What’s even more remarkable is how beautifully he clears his front foot to create room for balls aimed at his legs. This freedom allows him to play the way he does. That innings was nothing short of spectacular!

When the young batter was informed about the tweet, he said, “I wasn’t aware of the tweet till now. It feels great and motivates me. Everyone knows him as the God of Cricket, and for him to tweet something like that means a lot and is a huge matter of pride.”

Former cricketers sing praises of the young batter

Ex-India batter Mohammed Kaif took to his YouTube channel and said, “We are seeing a miracle, we are seeing a future star, we are seeing Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, the wonder boy.

Jaw-dropping sixes break the record of most sixes in his first full IPL season. And he’s just 15. The opposition players, owners and the entire cricket world applaud. Cricket has so much to look forward to”

Michael Vaughan, the former England captain, just put out a tweet which read “He is the best T20 opener in the World .. India have to pick him.” The 51-year-old has time and again said that the Indian selectors need to pick the young southpaw for the upcoming tours of Ireland and England, considering the form he has shown with the bat.

Meanwhile, Suresh Raina, who has won the IPL with CSK,  too praised the young prodigy on his social media handle and wrote, “Dictionary doesn’t have enough words to describe what Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has done in this tournament.

What a player, what a prodigy. The fact that people are actually waiting to watch him bat proves that Indian future is in safe hands.”

England’s former skipper Kevin Pietersen, who shot for his YouTube show ‘The Switch’ with the boy wonder, simply wrote, “Vaibhav told me he wants to score 200 in a T20. I believe him!”
