The final of IPL 2026 is to be held between Gujarat Titans and RCB in Ahmedabad. Money will rain on the winning team. The prize money of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has also increased. Let us know how much money the team that wins the trophy, the runner-up and other teams will get this time.
Last year, RCB won the trophy by defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS). At the same time, Gujarat Titans have not been able to win the title since 2022. Royal Challengers Bangalore had a very good net run rate, due to which it remained on top in the points table.
When IPL started in 2008, the winning team used to get Rs 4.8 crore.
In 2014-15 this amount increased to Rs 15 crore. Now it is Rs 20 crore. According to reports, BCCI will distribute a total prize money of more than Rs 46.5 crore in IPL 2026.
The team that wins the IPL 2026 trophy will get Rs 20 crore. The runners-up (second place) team will be given Rs 13 crore. The losing team (3rd place) in Qualifier 2 will get Rs 7 crore. At the same time, the team eliminated in the eliminator (fourth place) will get Rs 6.5 crore.
The teams ranked 5th to 10th in the points table do not get any prize money. However, these teams earn a good amount from broadcasting deals, sponsorships and ticket sales.
Players who win the Orange Cap and Purple Cap get Rs 10 lakh each.
The Most Valuable Player (MVP) is also given a reward of Rs 10 lakh. Emerging Player of the Tournament gets Rs 20 lakh. Rajasthan Royals opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi won the Orange Cap by scoring 776 runs, while Gujarat Titans fast bowler Kagiso Rabada won the Purple Cap by taking 28 wickets.
