Gujarat Titans team escaped a scare after their bus caught fire following the IPL 2026 final against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. A short circuit in the bus resulted in the fire, and all the players were evacuated successfully. The incident happened when the franchise was returning to their hotel from the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday night. The players and other members of the team were left stranded for almost an hour.

The situation was scary for the players, but all the cricketers are safe. Earlier, the Gujarat Titans lost to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the final of the 19th season of the tournament. The defending champions registered a 5-wicket win over their rivals in Ahmedabad. The Titans have been on the road for a long time. They travelled to Dharamsala to play Qualifier 2 against Bengaluru and then returned to Mullanpur to take on Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 on May 29.

Their scheduled flight to Ahmedabad on May 30 was delayed due to bad weather, and they reached the city late on Saturday evening.

GT’s Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki spoke about the fatigue factor. “I don’t want to take away from the fact that RCB have won by simply stating that we’ve had this number of games in these short days and we’re fatigued and that’s not really what we’re about,” he said.

“Admittedly, it (155/8) was a below-par total, but our players showed great fight to try and defend it. We might assess what went wrong and how we might have done things in a different way. But you have to give credit to the opposition for playing well in the final,” he added.
