This player wants to play with Kohli and Rohit, said on being selected in Team India – it feels like a dream…

Dubey was selected in both Test and ODI team against Afghanistan

New Delhi. Young Indian all-rounder Harsh Dubey believes it will be a great achievement for him to share the ODI dressing room with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma and is also looking forward to understanding Test captain Shubman Gill’s leadership style in the upcoming home series against Afghanistan.

Dubey, 23, a left-arm spinner, has been selected in both the Test and ODI squads against Afghanistan. He said that ever since he first got the news of being selected in the national team, everything has felt like a dream.

Dubey said, I was at the airport when I got a call from someone asking how I felt about being selected in the Indian team for the ODI series. He said, due to the noise in the lounge and network problems, I thought he was talking about India A team’s ODI tri-series in Sri Lanka.

That’s why I said it feels like I’m close to making my dream come true. Dubey said, but as soon as I switched off the phone, messages started coming that I have been selected in both the Test and ODI teams. When I saw the news online, honestly I felt as if I was dreaming.

This player, who played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, apart from taking 69 wickets, also scored 469 runs while playing for Vidarbha in the last season of Ranji Trophy. He said, right now I am not thinking about playing in the ODI World Cup to be held in 2027.

Right now I am just focusing on doing my best in whatever opportunity I get.

Talking about sharing the dressing room with Kohli and Rohit during the three ODIs after the Test matches, Dubey said, I have grown up watching them. I have been watching him play ever since I started understanding cricket. If I get a chance to play even one match with him, it will be a dream come true for me.

On playing with Test and ODI captain Gill, Dubey said, I really want to see Shubman Gill up close as a person because as an opponent you can never completely understand what a person is like or how he is as a captain.
