Delhi: Bangladesh on Wednesday announced its 15-member squad for the ODI series against Australia. Mehdi Hasan will captain the Miraj team. Mosaddek Hussain has returned to the ODI team after almost four years. The three-match ODI series between Bangladesh and Australia will start from June 9.
Mosaddek has been in excellent form in Bangladesh’s domestic List-A competition.
He has scored 310 runs in 6 innings at an excellent average of 77.50 and strike rate of 129.17. During this period he also scored one century and two half-centuries. His performance in bowling was also excellent and he took 12 wickets in 7 innings. Seeing his strong performance with both bat and ball, the team management has included him in the team. He is expected to strengthen the batting and bring better balance in the bowling.Along with the return of Mosaddek, experienced wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan Sohan has also returned to the national team.
He was not a part of the team in the last ODI series against New Zealand. Due to the inclusion of Sohan and Mosaddek in the team, Afif Hussain and Mahidul Islam Ankon have been dropped from the squad.Australia is coming to Bangladesh for a bilateral ODI series after almost 15 years. Australia last came to Bangladesh for an ODI series in 2011.
