NoE Delhi. In our society, Shraddha and puja have special importance to remember the ancestors or elders who have passed away and for the peace of their souls. During this time, people offer those things to their ancestors, which they liked while they were alive. Usually on these occasions, fruits, kheer, laddu or vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes of their choice are offered as naivedya. But recently a girl offered something to her late father that it created an uproar on social media and people got divided into two groups.

In this video which is going viral on the internet, a girl wearing a saree is seen worshiping her father's picture. The picture is garlanded with flowers and around it plates of fruits, sweets and traditional food are kept as naivedya. Even in the video, everything was normal, as it happens in every house during worship. But what happened next surprised the viewers.
The girl picks up a cigarette, lights it and then with great devotion places the burning cigarette in the naivedya thali placed in front of her father's photograph. After this she completes her puja with folded hands as usual. There is also a devotional song playing in the background of the video, which makes this strange scene even more unique. Along with this, the caption written on the video is also attracting people's attention. The girl wrote, "Appa... you must be very happy up there with Rambha, Urvashi, Maneka. Maybe you will be teaching them feminism there." These lines made some people laugh and others angry.
As soon as this video came on social media, people started giving their opinions on it. It was strongly criticized by most people who respect Indian tradition and culture. One user wrote, "People have lost their minds. These people are doing such stunts just to get likes and views on the internet." Many people expressed their displeasure and said that keeping tobacco items like cigarettes at the holy place of worship is a bad omen for the house.
But apart from all these comments, some people also came out in support of the girl. He said, "Offering to a person who has died the same thing that he loved while alive may be a personal belief of some families. There is no need to find anything wrong in it. What is important here is the daughter's unconditional love for her father, not the thing kept there. It is completely her personal matter." Overall, this 'Cigarette Naivedya' video has sparked a new debate on the internet, which shows the clash between traditional customs and personal beliefs.
