Royal Challengers Bengaluru will face Rajasthan Royal in the Eliminator of the Indian Premier League 2024. The two franchises will compete at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 22. RCB has won six consecutive matches to make it to the playoffs, while RR has lost all momentum, having lost several games in one go.
However, former India player Ambati Rayudu is still backing the Sanju Samson-led team to beat Bengaluru. He said that spinners will play a big role in Ahmedabad, and RR have better tweakers in their squad.
“It will come down to the quality of the spinners in the side. I feel RCB lack spinners like Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal. Rajasthan’s champion spinners make them the favourite for the contest.
“Swapnil Singh and Karn Sharma have done well for Bengaluru, but they are not as experienced as Ashwin and Yuzi. For me, Rajasthan are ahead in the Eliminator,” Ambati Rayudu said on Star Sports.
After a phenomenal start to their campaign, Rajasthan lost the way and was easily thumped by the rivals. On the other hand, RCB was almost out of the race after losing 6 games, but the team bounced back spectacularly to qualify for the next round.
