Delhi: Manav Suthar has created history on his debut. Suthar bowled tremendously against Afghanistan at New Chandigarh ground. Suthar took six wickets for just 33 runs. With this, Suthar has reached second position after Narendra Hirwani in terms of best bowling performance on debut for India. During this, Suthar left Abid Ali behind and broke the 38 year old record.
The only Test is being played between India and Afghanistan from Saturday, June 6 on the grounds of New Chandigarh. During this, on the third day of the match, Suthar opened his claws. Due to which Afghanistan collapsed for only 152 runs. Suthar has put India far ahead in the match with his bowling. Suthar took six wickets for just 33 runs. With this he has registered his name in the pages of history.
Suthar has now become the second Indian bowler to have the best bowling performance on debut. The record of bowling best for India on debut is in the name of Narendra Hirwani. Hirwani took eight wickets for 61 runs against West Indies in 1988. Now Suthar has come second in terms of best bowling performance. He has broken Abid Ali’s record. Abid Ali took six wickets for 103 runs against Australia in 1979.
Because of Suthar’s bowling, India has gone far ahead in the match. Suthar took six wickets. Due to which Afghanistan collapsed for only 152 runs in its first innings. Earlier, India had scored 564 runs in its first innings. KL Rahul and Shubman Gill had scored centuries for India. India gave follow-on to Afghanistan in the match. Till the time of writing the news, Afghanistan has scored 29 runs in 10 overs without losing any wicket. Afghanistan is still 383 runs behind India’s score.
