Royal Challengers Bengaluru have failed once again in the Indian Premier League. Despite making it to the playoffs, they couldn’t cross the Eliminator hurdle against Rajasthan Royals in the 17th season of the tournament. They were ordinary in the batting and fielding departments.
They managed 172/8 in the allotted 20 overs. Bengaluru were 20 runs in the end. Although Rajasthan lost wickets in the middle overs, Rovman Powell hit some big blows in the end to win the contest for his team by 4 wickets in IPL 2024.
Bengaluru had defeated Chennai Super Kings in the previous contest and the players celebrated for a long time.
However, it didn’t go down well with former Chennai player Ambati Rayudu. He mocked the Faf du Plessis-led franchise after their elimination from the tournament.
“RCB will have to understand that you can’t win the IPL trophy by aggressive celebrations. You can’t achieve success by beating Chennai Super Kings. You need a proper team and good performance in the playoffs to clinch the trophy.
“Bengaluru will have to trust the Indian players and local coaches. You can’t ignore the Indian talent in the Indian Premier League. CSK, MI and KKR have understood the importance of Indian players and that’s why they are among the top performing units,” Ambati Rayudu said on Star Sports.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2 on May 24.
