Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) CEO Rajesh Menon hailed star batter Virat Kohli for his hunger and said that the veteran will play for the franchise until 2030. Menon revealed that Kohli is expected to be a part of the tournament for another three to four seasons, lauding the former captain for his commitment to the team he has been associated with since the inception of the competition in 2008.

Kohli is the only player in the history of the IPL to play for one franchise since the start of the league. He is the face of the team and has entered record books on several occasions. Virat is the highest run-getter in IPL history, amassing 9,336 runs in 283 matches. He recently played a big role in RCB’s second title win, cementing his place as the franchise’s greatest-ever cricketer.

“Virat Kohli and RCB are two sides of the same coin. He has been with the team since day one. We don’t see him moving out of the franchise even when he leaves cricket. We have to figure this out. I am sure he will be playing for another three to four years,” Menon told CNBC TV18.

“He is fit, and his hunger for runs is still there. You saw how he performed in this IPL season. He was ready for the challenge, and I don’t think there would be any problem for the next four years,” he added.

Virat recorded his best IPL season in 2016, amassing 973 runs. The veteran won the Orange Cap in 2024 for accumulating 741 runs and followed it up with another memorable outing in 2025, posting 657 runs at an average of over 50 as RCB won their maiden IPL title.

In the 19th season of the IPL, the right-handed batter managed 675 runs in RCB’s successful campaign. In the final against the Gujarat Titans on May 31, Virat scored an unbeaten 75 off 42 balls, and he recorded his fastest IPL fifty. The 37-year-old remained in the middle till the end as Bengaluru defeated the Titans by 5 wickets to lift their second IPL trophy.
