This statement of the legendary batsman has come at a time when Bangalore has to face Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the eliminator match on Wednesday. This match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In cricket, people often watch old videos of bowlers to assess the condition of their wrist and seam. However, the 35-year-old does not agree with this at all and believes that he selects his shots in the match only after looking at the bowler. During a conversation in a special episode of Star Sports, the former RCB captain has discussed this in detail.

He said, “I like to keep things very simple. I am not a person who pays attention to statistics. I have never really watched a video of a bowler because he can make a difference in the match. I assess the condition of his wrist and seam during the match itself. I don't think computer analysis can tell you what position you will be in the match.”

Virat further said that “No kind of analysis can prepare you for such situations and that is why the best thing is to find a solution on the field itself. I have based my game only on the basics of cricket. I try to keep my game the same in all three formats and only change the pace of scoring runs.”
