Vaibhav Suryavanshi breaks world record, scores half-century off 11 balls.

Scored 94 runs in 29 balls in the final of the tri-series.

Dambulla (Sri Lanka): Young Indian cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi has broken the 20-year-old world record of the fastest half-century in 50 overs cricket. In the final of the ongoing tri-series against Sri Lanka A, Vaibhav scored 94 runs in 29 balls, while he completed his half century in just 11 balls.

Before Vaibhav, the fastest half century in this format was scored by Sri Lanka’s Kaushalya Weeraratne.

He completed his half century in 12 balls while playing for Ragama Cricket Club in 2006. At senior level, there are two types of matches in 50-over cricket: List A and One Day Internationals. Every One Day International is also a List A match in itself. The fastest fifty in One Day International was made by AB de Villiers. He scored 50 runs in 15 balls against West Indies in 2015.
