West Indies captain Hayley Matthews has won the toss and elected to bowl first against England in Match No. 22 of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 at Lord’s. The contest will start at 11:00 pm IST.

“We will bowl first. It is a fresh wicket, but we want to assess the conditions as a group. It is a big occasion to play at home in cricket.
We are looking forward to the game,” Hayley Matthews said.

England skipper Charlie Dean would have bowled first as well had she won the toss. She lauded the West Indies for their performance so far.

“We wanted to bowl first, and it is important to adapt and execute. Captaincy is something you have to enjoy, and I look forward to leading the team. We know how good the West Indies are in big tournaments, but we want to play our brand of cricket,” she said.
