T20 World Cup 2024: The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will start from June 2 on the soil of America and West Indies. For this mega event, the 20 teams participating in it including the ICC have completed their preparations. However, in the meantime a big news is coming out. This legendary player is not getting a USA visa, due to which it seems difficult for him to participate in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Let us tell you who is this player?

This player did not get visa

In fact, on Wednesday, Nepal's veteran player Sandeep Lamichhane shared a post on social media platform X saying that he is not getting a US visa for the T20 World Cup. they wrote,

“They did the same thing they did in 2019. They refused to give me a visa for the T20 World Cup (T20 World Cup 2024) to be held in the US and West Indies. Unfortunately, I feel sorry for all the well-wishers of Nepal cricket.”

Recently got relief from the court

Sandeep Lamichhane has recently got relief from a High Court of Nepal in the case of rape of a minor girl. After rape allegations were made in September last year, Nepal Cricket Board removed Sandeep from the post of national team captain and banned him from playing cricket.

Due to this case, Sandeep was away from the cricket field for the last few months. But just before the start of the T20 World Cup (T20 World Cup 2024), the court gave him a clean chit. In such a situation, it was believed that he would make it to Nepal's T20 World Cup squad. But now he is not even able to get a visa.

It has been a wonderful career

23-year-old Sandeep Lamichhane has had a great international career playing for Nepal. He has taken 112 wickets in 51 ODIs at an average of 18.06 and an economy rate of 4.37. In 52 T20 international matches, he has taken 98 wickets at an average of 12.58 and an economy rate of 6.29.
