Delhi: A nine-year-old child cricketer in England has performed such a feat, which is being counted among the rarest performances in the history of cricket. While taking a hat-trick is considered a big achievement for any bowler, Rohan made an amazing record of double hat-trick by dismissing six batsmen on all the balls of the same over.
Rohan, playing for the Under-9 team of Great Shelford Cricket Club, surprised everyone with his lethal bowling in the match against Histon. He took a wicket on every ball of his only over and clean bowled all six batsmen and sent them to the pavilion. His bowling performance was 1 over, 0 runs and 6 wickets, which is considered no less than a dream. Thanks to Rohan’s brilliant bowling, his team won the match by 26 runs.
As soon as the sixth wicket fell, the atmosphere of the field changed completely. Sounds of applause and happiness started echoing all around. Rohan told that after getting a wicket on the last ball, his fellow players ran to the pitch and everyone together celebrated this historic moment. It is very rare to get a chance to see such a performance at such a young age.
Rohan’s performance won the hearts of not only his team but also the opposing players. Team head coach Lucas Green and Vishal Gupta, who was playing the role of umpire in the match, described this achievement as very special. Expressing happiness, Vishal lifted Rohan on his shoulders. The special thing was that the players of Histon team also showed their sportsmanship and clapped loudly for Rohan and respected his achievement.
This memorable performance was seen on Father’s Day, which doubled the happiness of Rohan’s father Narayan. He said that taking even one wicket is a big achievement for children at this age, but his son created history by taking six consecutive wickets. In the beginning even he had no idea what a rare record Rohan had made in his name.
Rohan was chosen player of the match for his excellent bowling. As a reward, he was also presented the same match ball, with which he achieved the historic feat of taking six wickets in six balls.
