Indian cricket team’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya is at a very important juncture these days regarding his game and fitness. To give a new direction to his career and regain 100 percent fitness, Pandya has taken a shocking decision, which no big player in the history of Indian cricket has taken till date. Hardik Pandya has now left Mayanagari Mumbai and shifted to Bengaluru forever and has also found his new home there.

BCCI’s Center of Excellence (COE) will become its permanent home.

In fact, the state-of-the-art Center of Excellence (COE) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is located in Bengaluru, which was earlier known as the National Cricket Academy (NCA). According to the report of news agency PTI, Pandya has taken a historic decision to make this COE his ‘permanent training base’. Usually players come here only for a few days for injury rehab, fitness test or national camp, but Pandya will train here regularly throughout the year.

Troubled by injury, also fed up with Mumbai traffic

Hardik Pandya, originally from Baroda, Gujarat, had been living in his house in Lower Parle, Mumbai for the last several years and used to practice at the Mumbai Indians academy in Ghansoli. However, for some time now he has been suffering from a serious ‘Quadriceps Injury’, due to which he has had to miss the important tours of Ireland and England.

A BCCI source said that Pandya was facing a lot of trouble in commuting from his home in Mumbai to the training ground due to heavy traffic and long distance. Since he is a Centrally Contracted player of BCCI, he can have free and full access to all the world-class facilities of the COE. Giving priority to his fitness, he has rented a luxurious property outside the city, near the COE, so that he can focus on his injury and performance without any hindrance.
